Sunday Morning Smellovision!!

The Sweet Signs of Summer !!!!!

So the snow is finally almost gone.  The birds are chirping and the sun is shining.  Pretty soon some of my favorite things about summer will be back.   One of the things I am really excited about is being able to see our tiny little Humming Bird friends return to the feeders.  I hang my Humming Bird feeders underneath our roof overhang, right in front of the windows.  This is the best place for them to hang them so that all of us are able to see them.  

Last summer we had hovering room only on the humming bird feeders.  This was the first time I was able to catch a picture of all ten spots taken on the feeder.  It was right after a light rain.  They sucked the feeders dry in only minutes.

It always amazes me how fast these little guys are considering they are so small.  Little wings, but very powerful.

 

Another thing that I can't wait for are the beautiful flowers, and the insects that frequent them.

Its amazing all of the different colors that these flowers produce.  Eye candy.

Although I appreciate all of the beautiful things that you can see, I also appreciate the things 

you can taste.  One of my favorite things to eat that nature provides us with in early summer is the Morel mushroom.  I like to fry them up in butter with a light breading, and I also like to cook them in butter and mix them in with pasta.  Oh yummmmmmmmmmm.  I can't wait!!

Soon it will be time to turn the soil and clean up the yard.   The rains will come, the sun will shine.  The grass will grow and the flowers will bloom.  It is only a matter of time.  For now I guess I will look at these pictures and wait for the sweet summer to roll in.
